Mystic crystal revelation.

Groov-normous! Fringe-adelic! Look at these dudes.

Friends, and fellow Aquarians—this is Alex & Lee, makers of fantastical, jumbo beaded creations worn by the likes of Cher and Elton John. They’ve recently resurfaced among the wares at vintage mecca, The Way We Wore.

Writers over at style.com indicated that this coincided with a growing metamorphosis of tastemakers du jour: less 80s, more 70s. These showed up like a boon for those of us applauding the shift from 80s bodycon styles to a more relaxed, bohemian feel—a flavor perfectly engendered in this collection.

I note this propitious happening, yes. But to those of us who are just keen enough to have always been geared toward pieces like this, it’s less of an omen, more of a lagniappe from the past to designers today, with the hopes they’ll be inspired. Looking at the Lizzie Fortunato collection, I’d say it’s already in motion.

If you, too, find yourself with a fresh craving, here are some of my picks that aren’t one-of-a-kind (with a price tag to match).

[Lizzie Fortunato Le Smoking Necklace, $412 @shopbop.com]

[Alice + Olivia Multi Chain Embroidered Necklace, $176 @shopbop.com]

[Fiona Paxton Avon Oxidized Necklace, $200 @shopbop.com]

[Annie Costello Brown Fringe Necklace, $262/sale for $131 @shopbop.com]

Wear in good health—with a caftan, of course.

I bought a necklace at F21 that looks nearly exactly like the one by Annie Costello as a sample ’cause I wanted to make one myself. Think I’m going to use cream-colored leather I recycled from some vintage gloves.

that sounds TO DIE FOR. How hard would the Fiona Paxton chain linky one be? I’m dying for it… looks even better on the model, like a bib!
