After attending the reading at Lange Vineyards, we drove back down from the Dundee Hills and got to squeeze in a few more hours with new friends. Farm to Fork in Dundee, OR is an outstanding restaurant with a killer wine list and sweet, sweet escargot—boogers of the gods, I say.
We brought a bottle of Genius Loci we picked up at Michael’s earlier that day and were so excited to share it with Chris and Christine—Chris had actually been at Michael’s right before us with his class and hadn’t been able to try this.
Goes without saying it was incredible—and I think we enjoyed it with the two best people possible: Chris and Christine are both studying to be wine professionals, and Rob was in heaven. I imagine it was similar to how I feel when I meet someone who doesn’t call a caftan a muumuu then immediately roll their eyes—and I felt happy for the little guy.
[Enjoying my escargot. Thoroughly.]
Christine picked out this amazing Temranillo from Southern Oregon—her specialty! [Check out the Southern Oregon Wine Blog in our blog roll… that’s her and Chris.] It was absolutely out of this world. We’re been hunting down bottles ever since we got back…
We shut down the restaurant and lingered outside for another 15 minutes chatting. Definitely a moment when you think, “Do we really have to go?”
A perfect end to a spectacular trip.
