Urban feline knievel.

[First brisk walk of season in giant bell bottom corduroys that collected all manner of leaves and twigs.]

Everyone told me I’d adjust to it, and I certainly have.

I’m always better at having conversations with myself, or via a keyboard (I’m thinking of an ex, TA, who once mused, “I wonder if you ever think before that stuff starts coming out of your mouth,”), so it’s been an exercise in offering myself more relevant topics to converse about: depilatory techniques, what my face looks like while I’m running [squinty and furious, it's pretty funny], new reasons to quit Facebook, do fish fart [yes]?, and other pressing issues.

When I ran out, though, and no Goldie Hawn film could keep me company, I took myself for a walk around the Fan before working the other day.

It was pretty spectacular. And it even smelled like fall: all crispy with woodsmoke and dead leaves. I put my hands in the pockets of my pants and still had a little knuckle ache when I got home. There were families strolling together, and couples walking arm in arm to the art museum, wearing hats and coats. It reminded me a little of the days when I lived in Charleston and would wait until dark to go running around the Battery, because that’s when you could see inside the windows of the fabulous houses and catch glimpses of mothers setting food down at dinner tables. That should sound more wistful than it does creepy/pervy, btw.

[Whoa guys, you seen the forecast? Get your hip Fan beanie caps on.]

In other news, working 3 jobs at various hours of the day and night makes me feel… cool. No, really! Go, go, go; earn those excessive catnaps. Except when I forget to do something crucial. But I haven’t forgotten to get dressed yet, so let’s celebrate with toolish, blurry iPhone photos:

[The kooky art teacher returns: What Goes Around Comes Around pants + Odille blouse from Anthropologie + DVF belt + Club Monaco necklace + Sam Edelman booties.]

[DOR dress + DVF belt + Scorah Pattulo sandals + JADE Tribe necklace]

In other news, I went record shopping with a most dearest blog reading friend last week! We hit up Plan 9 in Carytown and bought a bunch of records, then fondled some goods (and a pair of Sam Edelman booties that are going to live with me soon) at Need/Supply. Good times.

[Giving a Richie Havens album a hear-see.]

Then I somehow managed to blow 2 weeks’ lunch budget on a meal that should have been $15:

[Can Can lunch: $8 mussels and $ burgers!  So guess where my money went.]

I turn into such a high roller when I eat by myself.

My blogging bone is broken. More (and better) later. Have a bueno week.

-Carey

Girl please. You could never be tool-ish. Truth.

Ps–living and depending on instagram to even pull something together period.

And you still look a mil bucks. I also now comment from iPhone and have forgotten how to use full words. Fail

The season of Hipstamatic—that’s what the coming weeks will be remembered as. I miss just about everything, but taking your picture is high on my list. You’re more beautiful than ever. -Rob

So you’re the creeper looking in my windows ;) . It’s finally fall in Charleston as I have patiently waited to bust out my new leather jacket that makes me feel more like a badass than a Mt. P barbie. Come visit!!

Those houses do look Charleston-ish. I hope you did not run in the wrong direction around the neighborhood you lived in. One block away is MUSC. Another block away is The Wire.
